A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. Ps. 16:9

Tuesday, April 14, 2026

We know it’s been over a week since Easter weekend, but we hope you had a restful yet memorable time remembering what Jesus has done for us through his sinless life, death, and resurrection. May the echoes of grace from that weekend continue to resonate in your hearts and daily lives.

On Good Friday we were privileged to have a small part in the wedding of our son Ethan’s best friends, Mason & Katrina. We had walked with them through months of pre-marital counseling, and Bill was honored to perform the ceremony. It was truly a blessing for us, and the echoes of grace from that holy day made the celebration all the more meaningful, reminding us of God’s love woven through covenant and Christ.
That morning, our daughter Bronia walked away from a very intense accident where she was t-boned while returning home after her shift. Though she walked away without visible wounds and only minor discomfort, CAT scans and X-rays are showing a hairline fracture to her upper right femur. As we navigate insurance and doctor visits with her, we are mindful of the echoes of grace surrounding her—gratitude that the outcome could have been far worse and trust that God’s care will guide each step of her recovery.

Encouraged by your Prayers!

By the time you read this, we will probably already be in New Jersey. We are here for meetings with Pillar Missions personnel and hope to accomplish several objectives: clarify expectations and job descriptions; learn what housing and daily life looks like in Liberia and what we need to bring versus what can be obtained in-country; accept that a preview trip likely will not happen and move forward in faith; and visit the Liberian consulate to apply for our visas.

We are grateful for the opportunity to visit the home office and get to know our new colleagues and leaders. Please pray for and with us as these plans take shape. It’s beginning to feel real, and with that come questions, thoughts, and sometimes fears. Going overseas at our “mature” age has sharpened our awareness of our own inadequacies, but we rest in the truth that this work is the Lord’s. As God directs our steps, may the echoes of grace steady our hearts, calm our anxieties, and remind us that it is He who will accomplish His purposes through us.

With much gratitude and love,
