A man's heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps. Ps. 16:9

If you're like us, you might be glad to see January finally coming to an end. It has felt like an extra-long month. We began the year and month with Bill in the hospital. He had developed an infection that required emergency surgery. During his hospital stay, many tests and scans were taken, and it was discovered that he had Type 2 Diabetes. Since receiving this news and some follow-up care, we have overhauled our diets and are already seeing a daily decrease in his blood glucose levels, something for which we are very thankful.
As we look forward to 2025 and what we feel the Lord leading us to next, one aspect that comes to the forefront is our financial support. For those of you who are not familiar with faith-based missions, it simply means that we don't receive a salary. We have to raise our own funds, including living expenses, ministry expenses (travel, promotional materials, etc.), retirement, medical insurance, and taxes, to name a few. This is why we so often say that our ministry partners are really that, ministry partners. Paul mentions this very thing in Philippians 4. He is reminding the Philippian church that they sent him gifts and supplied him well, and in verse 18, he says this was "...a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God."
Since our last newsletter, we have had five new supporters commit to giving monthly, and two supporters have decided to increase their giving. How exciting and grateful we are that God is moving on the hearts of his people to give to this ministry that God has called us to. We also recently shared in our home church and are scheduled to speak in another church in April.
Speaking of ministry, MissioSERVE's Hospitality House is finally finished with its repair & renovations and is already receiving visiting missionaries as of this week. This ministry, one of missionary care, is something that Bill enjoys. In March, Debby will be enrolled in further training to become a certified debriefer with a ministry located in North Africa. During her internship, she discovered a talent and love of walking people through debriefing their latest term on the field, a much-needed tool for missionaries to be able to come off the field well. She is looking forward to being able to use this training in future ministry.
As we look forward to future ministry opportunities, we recognize we need more prayer and financial partners. Would you consider joining our ministry partner team? I don't know who said it but there's a saying, "If going is not more spiritual than sending, sending should be no less sacrificial." We pray you will consider becoming a part of our team.
Health - that we would continue to make wise choices concerning food and exercise
Ministry - that Debby would do well in her upcoming training course - that Bill would have wisdom in his communication - That we would have opportunities to speak in more churches Personal - that we both would continue to seek the Lord in all things, even as we are getting busier
